After breakfast you can proceed to visit famous old city of Srinagar which includes Old Markets, Habba Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Zaina Kadal, Aali Kadal, Nawa Kadal and Safa Kadal, #Kadal- being the Kashmiri word for bridge. The old city also boasts of Kashmir’s many ancient shrines and mosques among which the shrine of Shah-i-Hamdan, situated between Habba Kadal and Fateh Kadal, is probably the most important. Khanqah-i-Maulla, on the banks of the Jhelum, was the very spot where Shah-i-Hamdan used to offer prayers. Upon his death, a shrine, ornately decorated with papier-mache on the walls and ceiling, was built in his memory. Makhdoom Sahib, Patthar Masjid, Jama Masjid and Pir Dastagir Dargah Hazratbal which is also known as white mosque are the major Mosques and Shrines in the old city. After breakfast checkout from houseboat and proceed to Kargil via Sonmarg (Meadows of Gold), The drive to Sonamarg is through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside in Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, Sonamarg ('The meadow of gold') has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer. Ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier, which is a major local attraction during the summer months. Sonamarg is the base of a major trek that passes along several mountain lakes –Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Gangabal. Sonamarg is also the take-off station for the drive to Ladakh across the Zojila Pass, a major pass in the Great Himalayan Range, through which the Srinagar Leh road passes. Notice the gradual change in the colors of the mountains as you travel to Kargil and Dras town often called 'The Gateway to Ladakh' Drass is the world's second coldest inhabited place, Visit the Zojila War memorial and Kargil War memorial on the way. After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Leh, enroute visit Mulbek (known for its huge Buddha Statue) and Lamayuru monastery (The oldest monastery in Ladakh). Admire the Sangam (confluence), of Indus and Zanskar Rivers and the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity), visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Kali Mata temple and reach Leh in the evening. After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass situated at a height 5602m (18379 ft.), and it is the world's highest motor-able pass. Our next stop is Hunder, after having lunch you can explore the Hunder Village and also you can ride camel Safari at Sand Dunes between Diskit and Hunder Village. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.
After breakfast checkout from the camp and proceed towards Leh, after reaching Leh you will visit Hemis Monastery situated 45 kms west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest Monastery in Ladakh. Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya (regarded as a future Buddha of this world in Buddhist eschatology), it's also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of Chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Pangong Lake situated at a height 4350m (14,240 ft.), through Changla Pass 5360m (17,590 ft.), it is the third highest motor able road in the world. Arrive Pangong Lake it is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by J&K and China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on its while appreciating the changing colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake, after returning from your day trip you can take an evening visit to Leh market. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
